Puustelli Craft Village
Quality of life for the mentally challenged
Handicrafts
In our handicrafts studio, traditional Finnish methods are used to produce beautiful results from natural materials. In addition to traditional textile products, such as national costumes and exquisite Finnish "ryijy" wall hangings, we also make everything from pin cushions to interior textiles.
Catering and group facilities
Puustelli Craft Village is renowned for its delicious food, pleasant function room and well-equipped meeting rooms. Our staff can assist in arranging all kinds of family occasions, celebrations and other events. Puustelli can offer two saunas: one including a comfortable room and open fireplace, the other a smoke sauna right by the lake. In summer, we can accommodate up to 16 guests.
Carpentry, farming and maintenance
While both commercial and private customers order products from the woodworking and joinery workshop, they are also available in the Puustelli shop. Skilled guidance makes it possible for people with all levels of ability to take part in the work. Farming and maintenance provide a variety activities throughout the year.
An environment for growth
Puustelli offers its mentally challenged workers an environment where they can live and grow. Individuals can find tasks suited to their abilities and be paid for their work as they use and develop their skills. The workers live in a range of apartments owned by Puustelli in the nearby village. Through their work and free-time interaction with each other and with the staff supporting them, they learn independence and gain a sense of self-esteem.
Puustelli Craft Village was founded in 1982 and is funded by Puustellin Tuki ry
(Supporters of Puustelli Craft Village).
